Questions:

Q: Can you tell me briefly about your driver?
The USB 2.0 software drivers give the user the ability to utilize USB 2.0 High Speed devices with their NEC, Intel and many more devices. These software drivers are compatible with the Mac OS X, and with the Windows 98, 98SE, Me, 2000, XP and Server 2003.

The software driver is customized with the customer’s unique subvendor and subdevice ID numbers. The customization process requires that the USB 2.0 device have an EEPROM chip. The customer programs the EEPROM chip with its unique subvendor and subdevice ID combination. OrangeWare engineers program the ID combination directly into the software code preventing the software driver from operating on any unlicensed hardware. The software driver must detect the unique subvendor and subdevice ID combination in the EEPROM chip and match it with one of the combinations programmed in the software code in order for the driver to work.

Q: Will the Trial driver work for my device?
The Trial driver is programmed to work for any device but it times out at the end of each month, so you will be forced to re-download it from our OrangeWare website.

Q: What OS can your driver support?
Windows 98SE, 2000, Me, XP, Sever 2003 and Mac OS X.

Q: Will our device be included in improvements to the Driver?
Once you purchase a Driver from OrangeWare, you will be included in all future releases of the Driver.

Q: Do you offer product support?
If problems or bugs are encountered in the future (for instance, when a new version of Windows or the Mac OS is released), OrangeWare will research and make adjustments to the Driver so that your device will remain functional in a changing world.

Q: What are the benefits of your USB 2.0 driver?
Our driver is the industry standard and some specific reasons why it is a great driver is that it supports:
* Hi-Speed isochronous data
* Power management,
* Composite devices
* Devices that implement USB 2.0 interrupts
* Multiprocessor systems

Q: Can I link to your Trial driver download or your OEM Driver download page from my web site for my customers?
No, the trial download is a timeout version of the driver that the end user should never receive and the OEM Driver Download is strictly to be used by our OEMs that have licensed our driver - not for end user download. The URLs of the download pages is periodically changed which would prevent convenient linking from your web site. Once you have licensed OrangeWare's driver, you are welcome to have the driver posted on your web site for customers to download, we just ask that you update the driver on your web site when we release updated and improved versions of the driver.

Q: My company has products that support both the NEC and Intel chipset. Do I have to do all paperwork/payments twice?
If you want to license both drivers, you will be responsible for filling out one of the contracts and the Addendum A which gives you permission to be included in both drivers. There is no additional charge for having multiple devices included in the driver AT THE TIME OF INITIAL RELEASE. However, if it is done later, then it will require another payment of the Non Recurring Engineering fee (NRE). You will not have to pay two Royalty Deposits.
