| Is WebCamDV compatible with AOL's IM Video? | ||||
| Yes, however it is necessary for Windows XP users to download an additional file for video support that can be found here. | ||||
| I cannot select WebCamDV as an available source for video in Yahoo Messenger. What can I do? | ||||
| This happens because Yahoo Messenger will pick up the first webcam that it finds. Yahoo Messenger does not list all available cameras. Workaround: Assuming WebCamDV is already installed, turn off your DV Camcorder. Open Yahoo Messenger. Go to Tools menu and select "Start My Webcam". At this point, you should see the WebCamDV logo. Turn on DV camcorder and you should now see your video stream. | ||||
| How do I uninstall WebCamDV? | ||||
| Start the WebCam DV or WebCamDV Trial Installer Setup.exe. Click on the radio button Install/Uninstall WebCamDV. Click Next, click Next again. Welcome to WebCamDV Setup dialog appears, click Next, click Next again. Click on the radio button Uninstall WebCamDV and click Next. WebCamDV will be removed. | I am using Windows XP with SP1, Direct X 9, and a PAL format camcorder and I do not get any video with WebCamDV, what is wrong? | ||||
| There was a problem in WebCamDV version 2.0. This has been resolved with version 2.1. Please download from here and install over your existing copy. You will not lose your license. | ||||
| The trial version works great, but when I try to purchase I get the error, "eSellerate software requires updating. (error = 3969:1197)" | ||||
| This error is indicating that you have an old version of the eSellerate engine, and the engine is having trouble self updating possibly due to a firewall. You will have to go to this link, http://www.esellerate.net/esellerate_update.asp and download and run the 'Updater for Windows'. This will update the engine and then the purchase should go through fine. The newest engine doesn't have any problems with firewalls. | ||||
| I went through the online purchase and now I have no where to enter the serial number? How can I get my copy of WebCamDV registered? | ||||
| If you successfully complete the purchase process your software is automatically activated and is converted to the full version. There is no need to enter a serial number, that is for your reference only. | ||||
| I am experiencing troubles using audio with WebCamDV and MSN Messenger 6.2. | ||||
Taken from http://messenger.msn.com/Help/Issues.aspx To ensure Microsoft delivers the best audio technology for computer-to-computer or computer-to-phone communications from MSN Messenger, Microsoft has made technical enhancements. This means you will only be able to use Messenger version 4.5 or higher for these features if: o You are not behind a firewall or o You are behind a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) firewall or o You are using a UPnP-enabled Network Address Translation (NAT) device |

| I am using WebCamDV and I only get the WebCamDV logo instead of streaming video. What can I do? (**ATI TV CAPTURE CARD OWNERS READ THIS)? | ||||
Make sure your DV camcorder is connected to your computer, turned on and listed in the Windows system Device Manager under Imaging Devices. If you continue to only get the WebCamDV logo in the program you are using, try the following: In the lower right hand corner of your screen (in the application tray) right click on the WebCamDV icon and select "Microsoft DV Camera & VCR" or your camera name. Even if the camera is already selected, click on it anyway. Video should then stream in your application window. ATI TV Capture Drivers do not allow WebCamDV to remain attached to the Microsoft TV & VCR camera feed; you must go to the system tray, right click on the WebCamDV icon and select your camera upon launching each application that you use our software with; Also, check within the Multimedia Configuration Center and insure that the WDM default capture device is not locked to the ATI capture driver. We are looking at this issue and will post a fix here if and when it is available. |

| I cannot use WebCamDV unless I am logged in with administrator privileges. | ||||
| For a regular user without administrator rights to use WebCamDV you must change permissions on a registry key. If you are not comfortable editing the registry, please call your system administrator. You must be logged on as an administrator for this to work correctly. Open Regedit.exe, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OrangeWare\WebCamDV\TrayApp. Right click on the folder TrayApp and select permissions. Choose to add a user, find the user "everyone", select ADD, check the top checkbox on the left (FULL), and exit out of regedit. You can now logon as a regular user and WebCamDV will function normally. **Depending on your operating system you may need to use Regedt32.exe. | ||||
| Is WebCamDV compatible with Windows Vista? | ||||
