Anaheim, CA - OrangeWare announces its forward development strategies which include upcoming new technology drivers to support AHCI, 1394 audio, Wireless USB, and PCI-X.  Art Scotten, President of OrangeWare, states, “We are convinced that these new technologies are key elements in the advancement of the technology roadmaps for 2004 and 2005.  We are interested in partnering with strategic companies to ensure the success of these technologies in the near future.”   AHCI Driver Development OrangeWare announced today that they are developing software drivers for Serial ATA II which will include RAID functionality.  Based on the new AHCI specifications, SATA II technology will offer a new interface for future high performance Mass Storage devices.  This protocol is expected to advance the data transfer rate to 600 MB/s in the future.  OrangeWare, in conjunction with several strategic partners, has committed substantial resources to this driver development.    1394/61883-6 Audio Drivers A second technology under development by OrangeWare is the FireWire based Pro Audio technology embodied by the IEC 61883-6 specification.  These new OrangeWare drivers will find applications such as DVD content security, mixing music and advanced home theater audio.  The popular ASIO interface will also be supported.  This driver will enable Pro Audio applications to interface with 1394 audio devices.    Wireless USB In conjunction with several members of USB-IF, OrangeWare has embarked upon a study of driver requirements for the new Wireless USB protocol.  First samples of a Wireless USB controller will be available sometime in June of 2005.  It is expected that OrangeWare will begin driver development in the December 2004 timeframe after the version 1.0 of the standard is expected to be finalized.    PCI-X Host Bus Controllers Another technology being researched by OrangeWare is driver support for host adapter cards which will need to interface with the new PCI-X high performance bus currently under development by Intel and others.  OrangeWare will be providing support for manufacturers of Host Bus controller devices – typically PCI-X card hardware developers.   PCI-X updates the current bus structure giving hardware designers bus frequency increases up to 133 MHz, making bandwidths of 1066 MB/s possible.   General OrangeWare is a 3 year old software design company which specializes in driver development for emerging technologies.  Its customers include Intel, VIA, NVIDIA and many others.  It is known for its original, first to-market development of USB 2.0 drivers for Mac and Windows operating systems.  OrangeWare holds additional copyrights on driver technologies for 802.11a/b/g wireless, 1394b, and Windows audio/video products.    For more information, go to www.orangeware.com or e-mail
